Yingxin and Xiaofei had passed the marriageable age. They had an affinity for each other. And Yingxin expected from her heart that they could get married earlier.
But when they were preparing for the marriage, Xiaofei made a call to Yingxin and told her that during the period of his serving in the army, a marriage application form was needed to be filled by both of them in advance. Yingxin didn’t think much about it but promised him. However, when she received the application form from the army and looked at it carefully, she was dumbfounded because the religious beliefs were required to fill in the form. Xiaofei repeatedly warned her that the religious beliefs of individuals including each and every family member must be made clear, especially the beliefs that were not allowed by the country, such as Falun Gong and House Church, and so on. Furthermore, the CCP even listed God’s work of the last days into the form and condemned it directly. When seeing it, Yingxin was very indignant. The CCP, in order to ban the religious belief and make China a place without God, adopts kinds of means to disturb and stops people from coming before God. She had never thought it actually used the marriage application form to investigate people’s beliefs. How sinister they are! Yingxin was pondering: Though I merely need to fill the situation of my religious belief on it, yet it concerns about whether I practice truth or not and concerns God’s testimony. I can’t dispose of this matter carelessly.
One evening, Yingxin quieted herself and read God’s words, “There are often those who believe that the matters which aren’t paid much heed by people, the matters that aren’t usually mentioned — these are merely minor trifles, and they don’t have anything to do with putting truth into practice. When these people are faced with just such a matter, they don’t give it much thought and let it slide. But in actual fact, this matter is a lesson for which you should be studying, a lesson on how to fear God, on how to shun evil. Moreover, what you should be even more concerned about is knowing what God is doing when this matter arises to face you. God is right at your side, observing every one of your words and deeds, observing your actions, your mind changes — this is God’s work” (“How to Know God’s Disposition and the Result of His Work”). After that, Yingxin stopped frowning. She understood that regarding this matter, she should have a heart of fearing God, and should take a firm stand in her belief. She should never deny God or betray God.
But then she thought: If I didn’t fill the form, how could I get married with Xiaofei? Yingxin didn’t know what to do and got into trouble. Also, Xiaofei constantly called her to urge her to fill the form as soon as possible and send it to him. Yingxin knew that anyhow, she could never deny or betray God. Having no choice, she came to pray to God: “O God! please make a way out for me. I’ll by no means betray You but I really don’t know how to fill this form. May You enlighten me and guide me.”
After prayer, Yingxin heard it said in the Sermons and Fellowship on Entry Into Life, “During the process in which we follow Almighty God, we must experience many battles with Satan, and endure many plunders carried out by Satan. Satan will plunder you, Satan will persecute you, Satan will coerce you, Satan will throw you in jail, Satan will cut off your way of life; you will encounter all kinds of trials, and inevitably some will be captured by Satan. Once a person has been captured by Satan, standing on the side of Satan, the belief of this person will no longer qualify, and he shall be denied by God. God calls such people the unbelievers. The unbelievers have shamed God in front of Satan and denied God. They have been captured by the beast.” Through the fellowship, Yingxin realized that she mustn’t deny her belief in God because it was an act of betrayal. Once she ticked the box marked “no religion” on the form and signed it, she would be imprinted by the mark of the beast and forsaken by God. After that, Yingxin had faith to face this spiritual battle, and she was willing to stand testimony for God and satisfy Him, never making herself a Satan’s laughingstock. Even if she couldn’t get married, she would by no means go against her conscience and betray God. Afterward, Yingxin saw God’s words say, “You must have My courage within you and you must have principles when facing relatives who do not believe. But for the sake of Me, you must also not yield to any of the dark forces. Rely on My wisdom to walk the perfect way; do not allow the conspiracies of Satan to take hold” (“The Tenth Utterance”). When she had read it, Yingxin knew the way of practice: I can fill the form with wisdom. Thereby, Yingxin wrote on the form her political attitude “I’m responsible for protecting the environment,pay attention to hygiene, respect the old and loving the young. I am no member ofFalun Gong”.
Not having received the form for so long time, Xiaofei took the opportunity of holiday to come back home to fetch it. But as he saw the form filled by Yingxin, he flatly denied, saying: “It absolutely doesn’t work! Your political attitude is not clear. The leader won’t approve. If you write like this, we needn’t submit it. Even if submitted, it can’t be passed.” Then Yingxin said firmly: “It is perfectly justified for man to believe in God and worship God. Why do we express attitude to them? On this matter, I can’t give way, because this is the standards of conscience that a man should possess at the very least. Today, if I forsake God for our marriage, am I not traitorous?” Then Xiaofei begged piteously: “Why do you insist on filling it this way? There is nothing I can do with you! I can only apply for an early discharge and then be a farmer. So I won’t have to fill the form to apply for marriage approval.” Yingxin knew Xiaofei was threatening her with his job, so she hurried to pray silently to God within. And then the words of God came to her mind: “Of everything that occurs in the universe, there is nothing that I do not have the final say in. What exists that is not in My hands? All that I say goes, and among men, who is there who can change My mind?” (“The First Utterance”). Yingxin felt much brighter and said seriously, “Suit yourself! The God I believe in is the one and the only true God who created the universe and all things. Whereas, the CCP, who is sinister and contemptible, condemns God’s work in every aspect, and takes advantage of kinds of cunning tricks to coerce people into resisting God with them. Now, I solemnly express my attitude to you: I can only fill the form like this and I’ll never change my mind. Whether your leader approves isn’t important. I just want to obey and experience God’s work. If you want to discharge from the army because of this, I cannot manage you. Even if you want to break up with me, I won’t force you. I have no other demands except that I can’t tick the box marked “no religion” and signed my name on the form!” Hearing what she said, Xiaofei sighed and said no more.
Yingxin stood in front of the window, staring into the distance and looking at the gloomy sky. She felt that in China, she didn’t have freedom at all, as if she was wrapped in an intangible big net. She thought God’s words: “Religious freedom? The legitimate rights and interests of citizens? They are all tricks for covering up sin! … Where is the true freedom and legitimate rights and interests? Where is the fairness? Where is the comfort?” (“Work and Entry (8)”) Before the facts I wondered, where is the CCP’s so-called religious freedom? Where is the legitimate rights and interests of people? These are the CCP’s nonsenses for deceiving the world and Chinese people, and are the tricks for covering up sin. The CCP uses various means to destroy and disturb God’s work, and stops people from accepting God’s salvation by every possible means. Now, it even does its utmost to slander, condemn and blaspheme God on the marriage application form. They are really evil and despicable to the extreme.
Xiaofei took the form to the army. Several days later, Yingxin received the call from Xiaofei, and heard him saying gladly: “Approved! My form has been approved! Our leader have signed the form and asked me to go home earlier to apply for a marriage certificate and hold a celebratory banquet!” Hearing this, Yingxin thanked God unceasingly within. God is really wondrous! Yingxin couldn’t help thinking God’s words: “Regardless of how ‘powerful’ Satan is, regardless of how audacious and ambitious it is….Throughout the vast expanse of the universe, there is not a single person or object that was born from it, or exists because of it; there is not a single person or object that is ruled by it, or controlled by it” (“God Himself, the Unique I”). Through this experience, Yingxin tasted God’s authority and power, and she saw it is God who orchestrates everything. More than that, she saw God’s omnipotence and sovereignty, and that Satan is also in God’s hand. After this experience, Yingxin learned that in the future when anything happens to her she should come before God and rely on wisdom that God gives to her to defeat Satan. Thank God for His guidance.
