The Coming of God’s Kingdom Is Our Same Expectation

We believers in the Lord all have the same expectation, that is being raptured to the heavenly kingdom. Especially when we see the Bible record, “ In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (Jhn 14:2–3). After the Lord Jesus was resurrected and ascended to heaven, He returned to heaven to prepare a place for us. Then how will the Lord rapture us to the kingdom of heaven? Is the kingdom of heaven on earth, or is it in heaven?

The Lord’s Prayer says, “After this manner therefore pray you: Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” (Mat 6:9–10). The Lord requires that we pray for God’s kingdom to come down to the earth, so that His will may be carried out on earth. The Lord Jesus did not say that God’s kingdom would be established in heaven, and He particularly did not have us hope and pray for the day we would be raptured up to heaven.

The Revelation prophesied, “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever” (Rev 11:15).

“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Rev 21:2–4).

These two passages mention: “The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of His Christ;” “new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven;” “the tabernacle of God is with men.” These refer to the kingdom of Christ being realized on earth.
